The changes in distribution and in the turbo allow a fast answer although the motor doesn’t turn at high regimen. Audi A3 Cabrio

Audi has remained loyal to the canvas hood in his new A3 convertible.

Audi discards the theory that the canvas roofs filter less the noises from outside. Audi has endowed the A3 Cabrio with an especial canvas that it allows traveling with a soundproof comparable to any of his rivals.

Besides, the easy-use of this hood is worthy of mention, removes itself twice as fast as the ragtop on the BMW 1 Series Convertible. There are ample rear room for the legs and other load lugging benefits.

The new Cabrio A3 is offered with an ample number of generous motorizations and among them is pertinent to stand out the  2.0 T propellant.

Suzuki Grand Vitara

The Suzuki Grand Vitara is the most matriculated 4×4 car during 2006 and 2007. We can look for the main reasons in his price ( from 18.066 that costs the Grand Vitara model 1.6 3P JA ) or in his new turbodiesel and gasoline motors: The new generation of this Japanese 4×4 has won at attraction. His soft and clean chassis lines do not have nothing to do with the first Vitara model. His soft and clean chassis lines do not have nothing to do with the first Vitara model. The 2006 model has had a structural redesign with a new ladder-boxed chassis integrated into a unibody construction. In some countries it is sold as a Suzuki Maruti.

The Suzuki Grand Vitara has permanent traction at the four wheels with central differential with possibility of blocking it ( except in the 1.6 l versions ). This block supplies more power in the axle wheels increasing the grasp. The combination of both elements with the traction control allow this car to go by places where other 4×4 vehicles can stay clogged.

There are two motors for this three doors version:
* Gasoline 1.6 / from 1586 c.c. 106 cv, 106 km/h max. speed from 0 to 100 km/h in 14.4 seconds.
* Diesel 2.0 / from 1870 c.c. 129 cv, 170 km/h max. speed from 0 to 100 km/h in 12.8 seconds. Combined  consumption 7.4/100 km.

The five doors version has the same 2.0 diesel motor and besides a 2.0 gasoline that develops 140 cv and allows a max. speed of 170 km/h with consumptions of 9.1 l in combined cycles.

The most expensive model is the Grand Vitara 2.0 5P JLX-EL AUT of gasoline that cost 33.194 euros.
The more balanced diesel version is the Grand Vitara 1.9 3P DDiS JX-A and cost 23.509 euros.

A detail on the price : in the Suzuki Ibérica Website observed that the price is with taxes and registration tax included, but does not include metallic painting, transportation, deceration neither the basic pack. I do not believe that you may ‘roll’ ( or walk ) away from the car concessionary with the paraffin on or that they do not charge you the transportation from factory to the concessionary. Is for these reasons that I believe that the prices are a little bit of a trap.

Volkswagen Passat CC

Volkswagen brings the new Passat CC, a beautiful 4 door coupé equipped with a powerful motor that goes from 140 CV up to 300 CV and a generous trunk with a capacity of 535 liters.

It was one of the Detroit Auto Show surprises and already has become a reality. The new Passat CC impress us so much for his stylized elegance like for his technological innovations. The first units will get to Spain in July.

The Passat the CC is based in the same chassis than the Berlina but offers a good number of new things that the sports lovers for sure are going to appreciate. This car grown lengthwise (4.8m) and broadwise (1.85) but his height has decreased to 1.42 meters, what gives to this car a more sportive style.

From the same way than in the Mercedes CLS the rear rooms are designed in order that only two people can travel.
Volkswagen has bet on a new design, that has nothing to do with the normal Passat in the inside. The instrumentation, the air conditioning commands and the steering wheel are different. There are decorative elements in polished aluminum or wood and also you can request a pack of interior illumination called ‘Ambient’.

The front seats can become regulated electronically so much in height as in length. The back seats are separated by an armrest and under them coffers with lid where to store objects.

Between the main technological new things is the Lane Assist system that allows acting upon the direction and rectify the trajectory in case of the driver neglect. Another technological detail is the Park Assist that is able to detect holes to park and make it automatically.

Motorizations:
The most powerful motor is the 3.6 FSI V6 gasoline  capable to develop from 300 CV to 6.000 rpm.
His max speed is 250 km/h and accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds.
FUel Consumptions 10.1 liters each 100 km.

Preventing traffic accidents

The Servei Català of Trànsit and the Guttmann institute ( nerve rehab hospital ) launch a united campaign directed to young people between 14 and 18 years to raise their consciousness of the need to embrace prudential attitudes and responsibility in the activities related with car traffic.

The title of the campaign is ” Game Over: No te la juguis ” “ Se acabó el juego. That means “Game Over :  Don’t play with your life”. And the main message is simple but effective: Don’t play with your life!!, we don’t have extra lives and we have to take extra precautions at the time of make any risky activities such as driving cars.

22 monitors from the Guttmann institute, all of them traffic accidents victims with medullary injuries, will be the people in charge of accomplishing the formation conferences for various Catalonian schools to ESO students and professional training.

The Guttmann institute director, Josep Maria Ramírez informed to the people who assisted to the campaign premiere that every year are 140 new cases of medullary accidents. The fault is completely from the traffic accidents.

Rinspeed sQuba, a Green ‘fish’ car.

They haven’t passed so much years since that the secret agent 007 dip into the sea his old car. Everything was fantasy,  but in the movies everything it’s possible. But now is a true fantasy. And his name is: sQuba, a vehicle that is able to go under the waters of the sea.

His chassis was based on the Lotus Elise and consists of three electric motors ( try putting your power-driven car into a pothole filled with water to the exhaust pipe), and is able to dip to a 10-meter depth.

Reaches 120 km/ h out of water, 6.4 km h on the water surface and 3.2 km/h in submarine mode.

It seems incredible but it’s true, just look at the video:

Being hit by 4×4

Of all the possible accidents that a pedestrian can suffer, the most serious case according to a broadcast study made by the RACC would be if you get hit by a 4×4 vehicle.

The study accomplished by EuroNCAP, with data of more than 140 vehicles models, indicates that pedestrians deaths in Europe ( 6000 every year ) and 660 in Spain ( 2005 data ), they suppose
15% of the total traffic accidents.

The zone of the body that most suffers in case of a car impact is the hip, a very vulnerable body part.  In the crash test none of the 4×4 obtained a single point. With these data,  the RACC suggests that manufacturers should modify their 4×4 bumpers to make them more flexible, in this way the acceleration force that is applied on the pedestrians would be reducee avoiding injuries on the knees.

Now I ask to myself if a 4×4 is dangerous from fabric. How will it be of unsafe this type of vehicle, if the new owner adds a new front defense to?

Lamborghini Reventon

The design of the super sportive Lamborghini Reventon is inspired in the F-22 Raptor jet fighter.

This super car has a V12 of 6.5 liters and develops 650CV. Is capable to reach from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds !!! and a maximum speed of 340 km/h (due to the  pikes in Spain we are not going to be able  to drive it here ;) ).

The Lamborghini designing team wanted to highlight his sharp lines, his polished surfaces and his streamlines!! And they surely did it!!

The Lamborghini Reventon is going to be built in just 20 special editions and is going to cost around the  1.000.000 Euros (each) so prepare your wallet and your luck if you really one of this lamborghini’s.
